SHIVA:
Points that Created Shiva:
· Those were the days where politics had created big gaps within college students. Within a short period this gap extended to a gap between students & lecturers, students & parents as well. Considering the huge vote bank from the youth, politicians used to hype the student leaders either directly or by using local goons indirectly. This hype has thrown them to a mentality where their ego spoiled their own life, college environment and many others life as well. Crazy thing is by the time they come to know that they were trapped, they will be almost on the edge from which very few can return.
· The period where an excited person tends to take wrong people support for his living, the period where wrong people tries to show off the style in their work to attract the people for their living, the period where politician for his living hype the normal person towards wrong direction by using wrong people & wrong ideas is the period where people who have been suffering due to these 3 categories of people had given up hope and started living duds life.
· Leaders were not made, they are born. They take birth from a normal person when his mind and heart, become one under the uncontrollable circumstances to keep up his, his men and his country self-respect. In this process he has to bear the pain of giving-up many things & many people which & whom he loved, hated a lot still then.
Background of Characters:
“The attitude of a person can be
different from what he is inside.”- A person when goes to new place either
continues his actual attitude or show new attitude (either by chance or with
his earlier experience.)
There are two types of
politicians, one who give service and the other who takes service from public.
However the former is the actual intention behind politics, after Independence
as the days passed on slowly it has changed to the later one.
Earlier people who joined
without much interest & any idea or who joined for self-reputation later
used to change and give their cent percent commitment in the services they
offer to the public. But now, though a person joins with an intention to offer
services to society one or the other day he will be changed to a person who
takes services from public. The reason behind this is due to major percentage
of politicians are in this mentality and also public is not that much ready to
believe the fair leaders. Crazy part is people even after aware about current
politics has never regretted for believing them and similarly politicians has
not stopped bluffing public in the name of service.
Machiraju belongs to the category who believes in taking services
from public by any means. He is the guy who blame his own activities but on the
name of oppositions in public meetings. He uses the powerful local villain
Bhavani in activities like cutting down/removing his opposition, gathering
union leaders & also college leader’s support for his political growth. It’s
Machiraju idea to Bhavani to trap student leaders so that their big vote bank
can be captured.
Every wrong path has a history
of its origin. In person’s life span the reasons for the wrong paths or
decisions are remembered most than that of correct paths.
Bhavani was an orphan and he came to know that he has to work to
drink milk; he has to work around 20 hours to get a dress on his own. Bhavani
has not recalled all these tough times but remembered the day when he had a
fight with a guy in the market from which everyone started fearing of him. This
fear in public created a new job for which he no needs to work that much hard
as he did earlier but he has to maintain that fear in public. From then on he
started working for himself in the name of others work. He moved to the level
where he controls the streets where he had begged for work/food and market
place where he had fights, handle college student disputes to worker union
disputes, low level employee to high level political leaders. Of all the works,
managing college students and controlling workers union to support political
leader Machiraju is the crucial one. It is easy to handle workers union for him
as he came from the same background but managing students is the toughest job
for which he used to depend on Student leaders. His strategy is to create an
environment where student leader has to take help from him without an option so
that he can make use him which indirectly means all the students from the
college. His work is to manipulate the student leader and it depends on the
mental strength of that leader.
Of many attitudes, showoff
bluffing is a special attitude which got well noticed in public.
JD is a person who learned in the
childhood itself that showoff is getting more attention than his actual
attitude. From then on he started
show-off in all the cases and all the ways possible and reached to a stage
where in order to keep up the situations according to his showoff attitude he
has taken wrong people support. He has forgotten his original attitude &
thinking long back in such a way, he
loosed his common sense and became cruel animal to his lecturers & his fellow
students whereas offering animal to Bhavani who tries to trap him.
Any idea when it got generalized will lose its
newness, uniqueness and even its ideology. Student politics is one such idea which has taken completely
different route far away from the route it was supposed to go. With the experience, people gained from India
Independence movement, it is identified that it is important to bring awareness
on leadership qualities. Hence, student politics were introduced in the
colleges. When a student who came to college for studying and has not seen the
outside world got the power as student leader and got recognition from selfish
politicians, very few people can control the recognition they got with the
power they had.
Shiva is one of the
few students who have clarity on what they are and what they want. He is tall,
handsome, silent, will talk rarely but with only people whom he is well
adjusted. He looks very serious or moody might be of controlling his emotions by
ignoring his brother’s wife words in the house in ordered to keep his relations
with his brother. Shiva looks very serious but is matured enough to
show that only on the people who tries to disturb him.
Every
human being will take birth in his mother stomach with same set of emotions.
Starting from his birth in stomach, based on the different experiences he come
across his emotions take a particular shape.
Considering Shiva in movie, he is very angry but matured enough
where to show that. He might have come across situations where his angry got
increased but also might have come across situations of impacts of his anger
(either direct impact or through the words of his brother) that made him
matured enough to express his emotions at correct time.
However
matured enough, there will be situations that will forcibly take out our hidden
emotions.
His maturity made him not react immediately for JD’s & his
gang misbehavior with teacher, Canteen boy, with himself & his friend but
it got exploded when JD misbehaved with Aasha
and this reaction is not just because of Aasha but also based on his
understanding of JD from all these previous scenes.
A
person might tune his beliefs/interests/activities as per family, friends,
surroundings and situations but his actual behavior which he has been tuning
for all the reasons might burst out one fine day.
Similarly, Shiva who initially taken one way (considering his family &
situations) of just threating, beating, complaining to police, later he has
taken over the situations by coming out of his house and destroying Bhavani and
the bad system.
Until
we tune our self in according to the situations anything that is impacted will
be within ourselves but once we take over the situations the impact will be not
only to us but also on the people for whom we have been adjusting ourselves all
these days.
The impact can be positive/negative based on the situations
against which we are standing. In Shiva case though he saved city from Bhavani
he has to lost his brother daughter.
I
think my guru RGV sir has inspired the above line of characterization from his
personal life where his interest over films, has taken over the situations the
moment he decide to start video library.
Whenever
we are dealing with the powerful/dangerous person or the situation a small
loose word or less concentration from our end will be taken in the big way by
that person/situation just like Shiva’s beating Ganesh and underestimating Bhavani
has given scope to Bhavani to kill Malli.
Though
we are not clear in how to do but clear in what to do and have started doing
with strong determination, life is so crazy that it provides us the options just
like Shiva got union leader, restaurant owner & politician on his way to
destroy Bhavani.
A
person or a leader who cannot take care of his own people can never take care
of others.
Shiva even after coming out of house, the way he given
importance to Aasha by marrying her and the way he given importance to his
brother’s family by transferring his job shows his responsibility as a family
member. Any person who happens to live alone will take either (too friendly or too sadistic) of the extremities in their living. Either they will be friendly, likes to talk most of the times with most of the people with full of positive energy or with negative thinking keep restrictions within themselves and likes to live alone. However, no one by birth have selected wrong path it is their exposure to the society and the way they understood or got influenced by the people or by the environment around them. Aasha, whose parents are dead when she is young, happens to live in different places along with her brother who is police. Based on her family background, she had taken correct path. It is that friendly, open hearted attitude of Aasha created soft corner in Shiva.
Evolution of Characters:
The story is about how a person new to the city
fights and destroys an already fully established evil in the city.
The leading characters are Shiva who fights the evil actions of Bhavani. Let’s see the characters that
made the story for the leading characters to act.
Considering the real time experience he has, my guru
RGV sir has taken college activities as background. Those were the days where
college politics were controlled by local goons,
We have two important characters
one from college side JD the college
president and the other from local goon side Ganesh who supports JD. Of course, as everyone used to work as a
gang, JD & Ganesh will have their own gangs.
As Shiva is new to the college and also to the city
which is almost operated by Bhavani, there should be scenes or people to show
or tell the conditions in which they are studying or leading life.
As story is about student
politics and its interconnection with local goons, Malli who later become close friend to Shiva tells about student
leader JD and his bad actions in the college. Later through Malli friends
Gaali, Aasha, Naresh, Baasha and
Chinna who also become friends to Shiva raises the fire in him to burn the
Bhavani kingdom. Each of the above people representing the frequently seen characters in the college campus has played the key role to run the story.
Lecturer, Canteen boy and Gaali are used to show arrogant behavior of JD team.
Aasha plays the key role as heroine with jovial character who always stays for Shiva.
Naresh is used to show the student politics whereas Baasha is used for an incident in which Malli gets killed. Chinna plays strong support role when Shiva starts fighting against Bhavani.
Shiva brother, his wife and
their daughter are used to show middle
class mentalities and their strong relations.
In any story where local goon tries to take over the
society police tries to suppress them. When the story has a hero who is from
non-police department, the weak side of police department will be shown, in this story it was played by Aasha brother. As Shiva started fighting against Bhavani whom
police department is not able to do anything, he supports Shiva who came
forward to destroy Bhavani.
Any goon will have two types of people with him. One
for whom he works for and the other who works for him. Machiraju
is the politician for whom Bhavani works whereas Ganesh & Nanaji
works for Bhavani. Ganesh will be doing all the activities that Bhavani tell
him and Nanaji will suggest & look into legal issues linked with that
activities.
